System engineers sit at the control centre during product development and support the entire process from conception, production and operation to subsequent recycling. As a system engineer, you are responsible for ensuring that all requirements are implemented by the time of rollout.

The expert takes care of monitoring the existing systems and ensures smooth operations. They analyse sources of error and rectify faults. If necessary, the system engineer also designs new programmes and applications and integrates them into the existing system. 

Often, system engineers also provide technical support, carry out maintenance and are available to answer technical questions from internal and external customers. A system engineer is expected to have comprehensive knowledge of the various operating systems and programmes.
